Shell’s latest breakthrough fuel is now available nationwide! Shell FuelSave Unleaded 95 and 97 were launched in Sarawak and Sabah on 3rd and 4th March 2010 respectively .
Present at the launch events were En Azman Ismail, Managing Director of Shell Trading Sdn Bhd and Director of Shell Timur Sdn Bhd; Mr Leslie Ng, National Retail Sales Manager; and Mr Eric Holthusen a.k.a Dr Fuels, Fuel Technology Manager Asia Pacific, Shell Global Solutions. Also present were the Regional Retail Sales Managers for the respective states; Mr Kenny Ku for Sarawak and Mr Choe Foo Lung for Sabah. Each launch event was attended by over 80 friends from the media and local Shell dealers.
Fahrin Ahmad, was also onsite for meet and greet sessions with Shell dealers and to participate in the Shell Convoys through the respective cities. During the convoy, the Shell contingent made pit stops at select Shell stations where they handed out Shell bags brimming with goodies to customers. And at each station, Fahrin was also seen signing limited edition posters, posing for photos with Shell fans and sharing with them the Shell FuelSave Tips.
Kota Kinabalu’s welcome was as warm as Kuching’s! The Shell convoy route included stops at three Shell locations and at each station, the Shell contingent were greeted with a taste of the local flavor in the form of cultural performance e.g. Lion Dance, Iban and the Kadazan traditional dances. Enjoying the merriment of the day, En Azman was also seen trying his hand at doing the Iban dance! Also out in support was YB Datuk Jainab Ahmad, Assistant Minister of Resources Development & Information Technology and Assemblywoman for Karambunai constituency. Similar to the convoy in Kuching, fans of Fahrin were also out in droves for a chance to meet their favorite Shell Ambassador.
It was indeed an eventful 2-day celebration in culturally rich East Malaysia. Do stay tuned as Shell will soon be announcing the rollout of the Shell 1 Liter Challenge in East Malaysia.
In Kuching, the Shell Convoy boasted a record line up of 20 cars! The convoy was led by En Azman seated in a sleek Audi TT which was also jointly supported by the Kuching Myvi Club members. The convoy included stops at five Shell stations with the clarion call of ‘Make some noise!’ the theme during the drive. Indeed a resounding success as the convoy garnered mass attention and whistle blowing from the community.
